Formosa, a name once given to the island of Taiwan. It is an old Portuguese word which means “beautiful”. Indeed, Taiwan is a beautiful island that is also known as the Island of Treasures. With this unique fragrance, we explore various “treasures” that Taiwan is famous for. Taiwan is well-known for its variety of fruit produce. Plum blossom, being the national flower of Taiwan, is one of the elements incorporated in this fragrance. Another key element is the Taiwanese lupine flower. Lupine flower, known as “Lu Bing Hua” (魯冰花) in Chinese, is symbolic of the land. We were inspired by the classic Taiwanese film “The Dull-Ice Flower” and its theme song “Lu Bing Hua” to interpret the scent of lupine flower. Overall, Eau De Formosa is a fragrance that pays homage to classical chypres while introducing various Taiwanese elements and being modern at the same time.
